Some Helpful Tips for Couple’s Shoots
Here is a quick little list of things I would suggest to help you get the best outcome from your couple’s session!
1. You love each other, so don’t be afraid to show it! That’s why you’re getting photos taken, right? A little PDA never killed anyone!
2. I promise, even though it may seem weird to (insert weird lovey-dovey thing I suggest we try, here) it will look good on camera! So, one of my favorite shots to get is basically leaning in all the way for a kiss, but just before the kiss, it’s a simple smile between you two. It feels super awkward, I know, but I have been in front of the camera on this shot with my wife, so we know exactly where you are coming from. We were super weirded out by doing this one in front of our photographer, but it has made for one of our favorite photos.
3. Don’t be afraid to ask for a break! If you don’t stand in front of the camera often, it can be a little daunting/draining/nerve-wracking/you get the picture (get it? 😅). If you need a breather, just say so! I’ll adjust my white balance or something camera-y.
4. Don’t be afraid to be yourselves! If you and your Significant Other are shy in front of the camera, try your best to imagine it isn’t there. If you two act goofy, silly loud, etc., off-camera, then that is, simply, who you are. Isn’t that who you want to capture, instead of just some posed people who look like you?
5. If there are certain shots you want to get, just tell me and I will be sure to take them for you! You are the client, after all! Why pay for shots you didn’t want when all you had to do was say, “Hey, can we get a shot of…”?
6. Have fun!!! That is a big part of why I do this. It’s honestly just really fun for me! So try your best to have fun too! Make it a good memory that you look forward to next time (I wouldn’t mind that one bit *wink wink*)
I can’t wait for our session!!!
